Hey friends! It’s Heather from Twin Dragonfly Designs and I am so excited to be here today! Big changes have been happening in the life of this mompreneur. I have always had a number of businesses and projects on the go, the latest being Ya Ya Monster Dolls. But as a Lifestyle Blogger going on six years I have decided to focus all of my attention solely on blogging. Which means I will no longer be a vendor a our WCMC fairs – sad for sure but exciting because I hope to help Sarah continue to coordinate fabulous events and promote all of the awesomeness that is the Momma Collective! Today I am sharing this fun DIY Kids Art Chalkboard that I recently created for our kids…
Creating a chalkboard is as easy as going to Walmart and buying a can of chalkboard spray paint. You can pretty much turn anything into a chalkboard! When we moved to Kelowna my poor husband lost his “man room” and thus there was no where for his dart board. So I gladly repurposed this old dart score board into a spot for the kids latest art projects.
All you need is a large board. This one measures approx. 16 x 24 inches. Give it two coats of chalkboard paint and allow that to dry completely.
Season the board with chalk. Simply rub the side of a piece of chalk all over the board. This is an important step as it ensures that when you write on the board with chalk, the image doesn’t remain permanent and is easily wiped off.
Grab the hot glue gun and glue a couple of alligator clips to the top for easy art work hanging. And we are done. Easy peasy right?!
And super cute where ever you decide to display it in your home!
Thanks for having me Sarah – you are the best!
I hope that you all will stop by Twin Dragonfly Designs to say hi sometime.
